Our perspective on 2021 rookie Simi Fehoko.

Simi Fehoko, six foot three, 222 pounds, wide receiver out of Stanford. Fehoko was drafted in the fifth round by the Dallas Cowboys. He ran a 4.43 forty-yard dash. Simi Fehoko only played 16 games at Stanford, and we would have liked to see more production.

"Fehoko is closer to Boykin that he is to Metcalf."

Between 2005 and 2020, only six receivers entered the draft with a 90 plus athleticism score, a 70-plus production score, and weighed 220 pounds. The six wide receivers include Calvin Johnson, Julio Jones, Donte Moncrief, D.K. Metcalf, Miles Boykin, Chase Claypool, and now Simi Fehoko, according to the NextGen stats. Fehoko is more likely to fall into the Boykin category.

Simi is a big body receiver who uses it to shield defenders at the point of the catch and can focus on the catch. Fehoko posses a good burst off the line of scrimmage and works through jams. With his large catch size comes a larger catch radius. Fehoko is an upright runner, which makes it more difficult for him to create separation. It seemed like he would at times round off his routes and didn’t have the sharp cuts you like to see.

Scouting Report

You shouldn't expect him to start this year as he is buried behind Cooper, Lamb, and Gallup. If Gallup leaves next year, Fehoko is a 25-year-old second-year wide receiver that you don't know anything about, so it could be hard to hold on to him.
