Our thoughts on 2022 NFL rookie wide receiver Wan'Dale Robinson.
Measurables:
5’8” 178 lbs
4.44 40-yard dash
99th percentile target share
95th percentile breakout age
"Robinson is the ultimate competitor."- Head Coach Mark Stoops
Strengths:
Dynamic open-field athlete with the vision to slip tackles and weave through the defense. His lateral agility and balance make it hard to tackle him.
Swing and flare routes are his specialties, and he catches the ball cleanly in stride.
Robinson averaged 4.9 yards-per-carry as a running back.
He was one of three FBS players to average eight catches.
Wan'Dale won the Kentucky Mr. Football as a high school senior in 2018 and played almost every position on the field.
Weaknesses:
He is undersized with below-average height and weight. Making him a tiny target for his quarterback.
While he can make tacklers miss, he lacks the strength to break tackles.
On film, Robinson gets caught from behind and lacks elite speed.
Physical corners give him all kinds of problems, and he is not great in contested catch situations.
Special teams may be the only way he sees the field, but he has no tangible return experience and averaged 2.1 yards-per-return.
He will only be viable as a slot receiver or a gadget player.
Scouting Report
The Giants must have seen something amazing in Wan'Dale Robinson as he was taken above several more prominent wide receivers, don't make the same mistake. Brian Daboll will need to manufacture touches for Robinson and ensure he doesn't get lost behind other players. Robinson could have some flashes and is a best ball format candidate, but he won't be around long enough for dynasty.
